One lovely afternoon, I was out mushrooming with Mimi in the forest. Suddenly, my hound began barking at what I first thought was just an oddly shaped tree stump. But as I stepped closer, the “stump” stirred, and it was a magnificent sea eagle, its wings heavy and its eyes sharp, but clearly injured.
I called a bird rescue centre, and they guided me through the steps of how to approach such a powerful creature safely. Catching it turned into a small adventure of its own, minding the huge claws and the mighty beak, but with Mimi’s watchful eyes, a big blanket and a cardboard box, we managed to secure the wounded bird for transport.
We drove it to the rescue centre, where the specialists were ready to help. Good job, Mimi!
