Sometimes life takes a different path than we plan. That is what happened with Konrad. We had not intended to keep a puppy from this litter, and definitely not a male. Yet with his intelligent, charming gaze, elegant appearance, and confidently independent personality Konrad quietly won over the hearts of everyone in the family. Very quickly, it became clear that he was special to us, and we simply could not imagine parting with him.

The first large Porcelaine hound litter in Latvia

Konrad, officially named Konrad Wallenrod D’Ivande, was born on August 1, 2025, as one of seven healthy and strong puppies. This was a significant event in Latvian cynology – the first full Porcelaine litter born in Latvia.
The Porcelaine breed is still very rare and mostly unknown in our country, which makes every litter important for building breed recognition and appreciation. Every new generation helps the Porcelaine hound in Latvia become more recognized among dog enthusiasts and contributes to the future development of this elegant French breed in our country.

Konrad’s noble bloodline

Konrad’s pedigree combines carefully selected European bloodlines from Poland and France, bringing together not only excellent genetics but also generations of passion and dedication to the refinement of the breed.

Mother – Nora Nova Espera

Konrad’s mother is Latvian Junior Champion and Latvian Champion Nora Nova Espera (Jasmine Nova Espera × Legato Lego Nova Espera). She was born in Poland in 2022 at the renowned Nova Espera (FCI) kennel, well known for its long-standing work with the Porcelaine breed.
Nora comes from the famous “N” litter, where three of her sisters have already earned the prestigious World Winner titles.
From his mother, Konrad inherited a calm temperament, devotion to people, and the ability to adapt perfectly to family life while still maintaining the energy and enthusiasm of a true scent hound. Nora raised her “K” litter puppies with exceptional care, attentiveness, and love.

Father – Ulysse de la Vallée du Mascaret

Konrad’s father is the purebred French male Ulysse de la Vallée du Mascaret, affectionately called Odi at home (Lola De L’Echo Du Pays De Salers × Gamin De L’Echo De La Petite Foret).
Born in France – the homeland of the Porcelaine breed – he comes from one of the most respected Porcelaine kennels, and later moved to Poland – to the hunting dog kennel Hodowla z Garbu Księżej Góry.
At a young age, Odi had already achieved the titles of Polish Junior Champion and Polish Champion, along with obtaining a working dog certificate.
From his father, Konrad inherited courage, excellent hunting instincts, intelligence, a stable temperament, and a distinctive aristocratic appearance.

Training and first successes in the show ring

Konrad has grown from a playful puppy into an elegant and highly promising young dog. To properly develop the great genetics and natural qualities inherited from his parents, he began training early, benefiting from the new facilities of the Ventspils Animal Breeders Association (VDzAB) and the skilled handling of trainer Jekaterina Parijenko.

It is beautiful to watch Konrad work – he is learning with enthusiasm and demonstrates strong contact with people. The dedicated work has paid off very quickly. In the very first month after reaching Junior age of 9 months, he has already earned all the qualifications to become the Junior Champion of Latvia, thus confidently introducing himself as a promising Porcelaine hound in Latvia.
